The CEREC Procedure

First, the dentist prepares the tooth to be restored by using a special camera to take a digital impression of the tooth. The three-dimensional image with exact measurements is sent to the CAD/CAM computer.
The dentist chooses a specific shade of ceramic material to ensure that the restoration perfectly matches the patient’s existing teeth. Then, the restoration is completely digitally designed and entered into the CEREC milling machine. In a matter of minutes, the CEREC machine creates a flawless, customized restoration.
Next, the dentist tests out the fit and color of your CEREC crown, veneer, onlay, or restoration to ensure that it’s the best it can be. Any necessary adjustments are made, and then the new restoration is cemented and polished.
